SPEAK IN TONGUES III

"For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God." 1 Corinthians 2:11

Glory to God! We have been discussing the importance of speaking in tongues. We have established that speaking in tongues is a medium through which we communicate directly with God, and yesterday, we saw how speaking in tongues brings edification to the believer. Today, we will look at another powerful benefit of praying in tongues: it helps us become more conscious of and sensitive to the mind of the Spirit. The natural mind cannot comprehend the things of God by human reasoning alone. There are things that only the Spirit of God can reveal to us. The Bible says, “For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him?” In the same way that the human spirit knows the things within a person, the Spirit of God knows the things of God and makes them known to us. When we pray in tongues, we are fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit. Our spirit is engaged with God, and as we continue in this fellowship, we become increasingly sensitive to His leading, promptings, and instructions. Speaking in tongues helps us move beyond the limitations of our natural understanding and gives room for the Holy Spirit to minister to our spirit. There are times when you may not know exactly what to pray concerning a situation. You may have the desire to pray, but you do not know the full extent of what needs to be addressed. This is where praying in the Spirit becomes so valuable. As you pray in tongues, the Holy Spirit helps you pray beyond your natural knowledge and understanding.

The Holy Spirit knows the will of God concerning every situation, and He helps us align our prayers with that will. The more we speak in tongues, the more we fellowship with the Holy Spirit. And the more we fellowship with Him, the more sensitive we become to His voice and His leading. This does not mean that every thought or impression we receive while praying is automatically the voice of God. Rather, through continued fellowship with the Spirit and submission to the Word of God, we develop spiritual sensitivity and discernment. Therefore, do not treat speaking in tongues as merely an activity you engage in during church services. Make it a consistent part of your personal fellowship with God. As you pray in the Spirit, allow the Holy Spirit to search your heart, guide your prayers, illuminate your understanding, and bring you into greater alignment with God's will. The more you fellowship with the Spirit, the more sensitive you become to the things of the Spirit. Today, spend time praying in tongues. Don't rush. Your spirit can receive what your natural mind cannot comprehend, because the Spirit of God knows the deep things of God. Hallelujah!!!

  1. How consistent am I in praying in the Spirit, and what can I do to deepen my fellowship with the Holy Spirit?
  2. Am I sensitive enough to recognise and follow the Holy Spirit's leading while testing every impression against the Word of God?

PRAYERS
Father, thank You for the Holy Spirit. Help me to fellowship deeply with You, pray according to Your will, and become increasingly sensitive to Your voice and leading in Jesus's name
