HEALING IS A CHOICE " When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had already been there a long time, he said to him, “Do you want to be healed?”"  John  5:6 Glory to God!  A choice is a decision made between two or more possibilities. It is the act of deliberately deciding what we will accept, pursue, or respond to. While we may not always choose our circumstances, we can choose how we respond to them.  This is why healing can sometimes involve a choice. God is willing and able to heal, but there are moments when we must make a decision to rise, believe, and move forward.  In John 5, where we took our opening scripture, we encounter a man who had been sick for thirty-eight years. He had been lying beside the pool of Bethesda, where people waited for the moving of the water because healing was associated with the pool. Imagine being in the same environment where people were being healed, yet remaining in the same condition year after year.  He had watch...

HEALING IS A PROCESS “ Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.”  2 Kings‬ ‭5‬:‭14‬ Glory to God! Healing is not always an instantaneous experience. Sometimes, healing is a process that unfolds gradually until restoration is complete.  Naaman could have dipped himself in the Jordan once and expected to be healed immediately. Yet, God instructed him to dip seven times . His healing came as a result of his commitment to the process. The first dip did not produce the visible result. Neither did the second, third, or sixth. But Naaman continued until he completed what God had instructed. On the seventh dip, his flesh was restored like that of a little child.  This teaches us an important lesson: just because you cannot see the result yet does not mean healing is not taking place.  There are situations where God heals instantly,...

MERCY AND HEALING " And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me." Mark 10:47 Glory to God!  Mercy is the compassionate kindness of God extended toward a person in need. Mercy is God reaching out to us, not because we have earned it, but because of His love and goodness. When mercy speaks, judgement is suspended, limitations are broken, and help is released from the Lord.  The story of Blind Bartimaeus in our opening scripture reveals that there is a connection between mercy and healing. Bartimaeus was blind and sat by the highway begging for as long as he could remember. His condition had placed limitations on his ability to live independently and in the fullness of his potential. However, one day, he heard that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by. LIVING WATER INSIDE YOU " He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water."  John  7:38 Glory to God!  Every born-again child of God carries rivers of living water on the inside. When we accepted Jesus Christ into our hearts, we received the gift of the Holy Spirit, who now dwells within us. We are not empty vessels waiting for help to come from somewhere outside us; we carry the very presence of God within us.  Jesus described the Holy Spirit as rivers of living water. Notice that He did not say a river, but rivers. This speaks of the many streams of divine grace and operation that flow from the presence of the Holy Spirit within us. There is a stream for healing, a stream for supernatural help, a stream for wisdom, a stream for strength, a stream for inspiration, a stream for comfort, and a stream for divine direction.  The Holy Spirit is God's presence in us, and His presence carries everything we need f...

TO OBEY IS BETTER " And Samuel said,  Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices,  as in obeying the voice of the LORD?  Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,  and to hearken than the fat of rams. " 1 Samuel  15:22 Glory to God! Healing can be made possible through obedience to God's instruction.  One of the greatest expressions of our dependence in God is our obedience to what He says. How can you say you love God and cannot obey His Word? God is not merely interested in what we give Him; He is deeply interested in whether we are willing to listen to Him and to do what He says. Obedience demonstrates that we trust His wisdom, honour His authority, and value His instructions above our own desires.  King Saul learned this lesson the hard way. TRAINING IS IMPORTANT "Train up a child in the way he should go:  and when he is old, he will not depart from it. " Proverbs  22:6 Glory to God!  Training is the deliberate process of teaching, developing, and conditioning a person or ability to function according to a desired standard or purpose. Training is not merely the transfer of information; it is the consistent practice of a particular way until that way becomes established in a person. Our opening scripture gave us a powerful revelation concerning training : what is deliberately trained into a child becomes a pattern that can influence the rest of his life. When a child is trained in the right way, that training becomes a foundation for his decisions, behaviour, character, and direction in life. In the same way, we must understand that our spiritual lives also require training.  When we become born again, our spirit is made alive unto God, but we are still learning how to walk in the ways of the Kingdom. A PEACEFUL HEART " A peaceful heart leads to a healthy body; jealousy is like cancer in the bones."  Proverbs  14:30 (NLT) Glory to God!  The heart of a man is the control unit of his entire being, including the healthy state of his body. When the heart is healthy and joyful, the body glows in reflection of what is happening inside. Most of the times, the things we see in our body as disease can be a reflection of what is happening inside our heart. There is a connection between our hearts and our bodies, and God desires that we live with a heart that is free from bitterness, jealousy, anger, hatred, and unnecessary anxiety. From our opening scripture, a  peaceful heart is a healthy heart. When our hearts are settled in God and His timing for our lives, we are able to find rest for our souls and not allow the actions of others to steal our joy. Peace does not mean that everything around us is perfect; it means that we have learned to trust the One who is greater than...

LAY ASIDE " Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us." Hebrews  12:1 Glory to God!  The Christian journey is a race, and God has a purpose for every one of us. However, to run effectively and finish well, there are certain things we must deliberately lay aside. Our opening scripture clearly states what is required in our race:  “Let us lay aside every weight.” Notice that it does not say only sin. There are weights that may not necessarily be sinful, but they can hinder our progress spiritually. Some relationships, habits, distractions, attitudes, ambitions, or unnecessary pursuits can become weights when they begin to compete with our devotion to God and His purpose for our lives.  A runner does not enter a race carrying unnecessary baggage. Exodus  23:25 Glory to God!  Divine health is one of the blessings of service in the house of God. There are benefits in our labours in Gos's house, and one of such benefit is divine health. Divine health is greater than healing. It is been shielded from sickness. Instead of being in a position where you need healing, you are given a life where you don't know what it means to be sick. In our opening Scripture, God made it clear about His stand with those who serve His purpose on the earth; they can be assured of His provision, His blessings, and His protection from sickness. " Joel  2:25 Glory to God!  One beautiful revelation about our God is that He is the God of restoration. Whatever has been lost, damaged or stolen is not necessarily the end of the story. God has the power to restore what the enemy has taken and to bring beauty out of seasons that appeared completely wasted.  The prophet Joel spoke to a people who had experienced devastating loss. Their land had been consumed by swarms of locusts, leaving destruction in their every waking hour. IF I MAY BUT TOUCH " And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment: For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole." Matthew  9:20-21 Glory to God!  The story of the woman with the issue of blood is one of the most powerful stories in the Bible of what faith can accomplish when it refuses to give up. For twelve long years, she had suffered from a condition that had affected every area of her life. She had spent all she had seeking help, yet instead of getting better, she grew worse.  Yet, when she heard about Jesus, something changed within her. She said, “If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.” Her words revealed the state of her faith. She had not given up on the possibility of being whole from her disease. The act of fasting is the act of bringing our body (flesh) under subjection to the Spirit. It gives our spirit the power to superimpose its reality upon our natural reality. When we fast, we humble ourselves before God and are more atuned to His presence, which brings refreshing and healing to our soul. The spirit realm is very real and has its possibilities. T he most important principle for success in experiencing the power of God’s Word is not merely hearing it, reading it, or meditating on it, but doing it. It's very easy to hear; we even get fascinated by the knowledge of God's Word, but doing it is where the work comes in.  God instructed Joshua to meditate on His Word day and night so that he could “observe to do” everything written in it.
