MARVELLOUSLY HELPED

"And he made in Jerusalem engines, invented by cunning men, to be on the towers and upon the bulwarks, to shoot arrows and great stones withal. And his name spread far abroad; for he was marvellously helped, till he was strong." 2 Chronicles 26:15

Glory to God! Help is one of the greatest advantages a person can receive in the journey of life. There are dimensions of progress and achievement that become possible when the right help comes at the right time. God does not intend for us to live, labour, or advance by our strength alone. Throughout Scripture, we see that divine help is one of the ways God makes His people effective beyond their natural abilities. Help is the act of giving assistance to someone to accomplish what they could not accomplish by themselves. To help is to provide support, strength, encouragement, or intervention that enables someone to move forward. Help does not necessarily mean that the person being helped has no ability. Sometimes, help comes because there is a limitation that requires another person's contribution. A person may have the vision but need wisdom; they may have the strength but need direction; they may have the opportunity but need resources; they may have the capacity but need someone to open a door. To be helped means that assistance comes to us in such a way that our capacity to accomplish a desired purpose is increased. When we are helped, something that was difficult becomes possible, something that was delayed receives movement, something that was weak receives strength, and something that was unclear receives direction.

Our opening scripture does not merely say that Uzziah was helped. It says, "He was marvellously helped till he was strong." There is a difference between ordinary help and marvellous help. To be marvellously helped means to receive extraordinary assistance from God that produces results beyond what our natural capacity could have achieved alone. It is help that makes people wonder. It is help that causes results to exceed expectation. It is help that brings unusual strength to an assignment. It is help that makes a person accomplish things that could not have been accomplished by human ability alone. Uzziah was a king, but he was also an innovator. He built engines for warfare that could shoot arrows and great stones. His name spread abroad because of what he accomplished. Yet Scripture gives us the secret behind his advancement: "he was marvellously helped, till he was strong." His achievement was not presented merely as the product of human intelligence. There was divine assistance behind his progress. The greatest discovery we can make in life is that our help comes from God. When God is helping a man, He helps him until he is strong. Marvellous help is God's grace at work. Grace to begin anything. Grace to continue. Grace to endure. Grace to lead. Grace to serve. Grace to build. Grace to give. Grace to pray. Grace to make the right decision. and Grace to fulfil God's assignment. There are things we may be able to accomplish through our natural abilities, but there are also things that require the help of God. May we be marvellously helped by God until we are strong enough to fulfil everything He has committed into our hands. Hallelujah!!!

REFLECTION QUESTIONS

  1. Am I consciously depending on God for the help, wisdom, strength, and grace required for my assignment, or am I relying primarily on my natural ability?
  2. When God brings me into strength and advancement, do I continue to acknowledge Him as the source of my help?

PRAYERS
Father, thank You for being my Helper. I declare that I am marvellously helped by Your grace, I am strengthened and enabled to fulfil everything You have committed into my hands in Jesus's name
