THE LIGHT OF LIFE

"Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." John 8:12

Glory to God! Jesus is the Light of the world. He is not just a light bearer; He is Light. Light is a very important element in our world, especially for productivity. There is no better time to desire light than now. In a world filled with confusion, deception, fear, and spiritual darkness, the only hope of true light and clarity for man is Christ. There are contensions to that reality because the enemy doesn't want men to experience the freedom that comes with following the light of life. The light that Jesus brings is not just for illumination but for the transformation of our hearts. The light of life means the light through which life can be lived. There is a higher kind of life, there is a way one can gain advantage over life and all the confusions that it brings, and it is through the life Jesus gives. Salvation is not just the birthing of our spirit man; it is the initiation into the life of Christ, which is the light of the world. When we become born again, we are brought into light, and wherever the light of Christ shines, darkness loses its power. Darkness represents sin, bondage, and everything that separates us from God. Being born again is one thing; following Jesus and His way of life is another thing. Many people are open to the chance of believing and receiving Jesus into their heart, but very few are willing to follow Him. The light of Christ is revealed when we follow Him. It is in following Christ that we truly experience transformation, not just in accepting Him. 

Following Jesus is surrendering our life to prioritising fellowship with Him over every other thing else, doing His instructions and walking in love towards others. It is not enough to admire His light from a distance; we must walk in it daily. We must fellowship with light daily through spending time with God's Word and prayers. The simple things of the Christian faith are also the most powerful things that make life in Christ worth living. The Word is one major way light is encountered and transmitted; if we give ourselves to the Word, we cannot but walk in the light that it produces. Our character is influenced greatly by the Word, and it becomes evident that we do not function according to what the world gives but from a higher kind of life. The reason for confusion is the absence of light. Jesus came as the cure to the confusion of humanity. This is it; a child of God is the hope of the world. A child of God carries the light of God and is able to bring clarity and understand where others are confused. You cannot follow Jesus genuinely and walk in darkness. If there is still confusion, there is a gap in our following Jesus. Today, choose to walk closely with Jesus. The closer you follow Him, the brighter His light shines through your life. In His light, there is direction, there is victory, and there is clarity. No darkness can overcome the one who continually walks in the Light of Life. Hallelujah!!!

  1. Are there areas of my life where confusion, fear, or compromise reveal that I need to follow Jesus more closely rather than merely believe in Him?
  2. What practical changes can I make to consistently fellowship with Christ through His Word, prayer, and obedience so that His light shines more brightly through my life?
PRAYERS
Father, I obtain grace to follow Jesus wholeheartedly and to walk daily in the light of His Word. Let every form of darkness be eradicated by your glorious light oh God. Fill me with understanding, and make me a shining light that brings hope and clarity to others in Jesus's name
