DAILY ENCOUNTER

OBSERVE TO DO

"This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success." Joshua 1:8

Glory to God! The challenge that confronts us in our generation is the fact that we know too much and do so little. The most important principle for success in experiencing the power of God’s Word is not merely hearing it, reading it, or meditating on it, but doing it. It's very easy to hear; we even get fascinated by the knowledge of God's Word, but doing it is where the work comes in. God instructed Joshua to meditate on His Word day and night so that he could “observe to do” everything written in it. This is so important because it tells us how to actually do the Word. Meditation! When we meditate on God's Word, it becomes a stronghold that can shape our character and our actions. Many people know what the Word says, but knowledge alone does not produce transformation. The blessing comes when revelation becomes obedience. James 1:22 says, “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”

To observe to do means to pay careful attention to God’s instructions and deliberately put them into practice. When the Word tells us to forgive, we forgive. When it tells us to love, we love. When it tells us to give, we give. When it tells us to walk in integrity, we choose integrity even when compromise appears easier. Jesus also emphasised this principle when He said that the person who hears His words and does them is like a wise man who built his house upon a rock (Matthew 7:24). The strength of our spiritual lives is revealed not simply by what we know, but by what we practise. God's Word is not merely information for our minds; it is instruction for our lives. Therefore, do not stop at receiving revelation. Ask yourself, “What must I do because of what God has shown me?” Every genuine encounter with God's Word should produce a corresponding action. The distance between hearing and doing God's Word is the most important factor to having good success. If you can shorten the distance and be an immediate doer of the Word, you will prosper and have good success. It begins with observing through meditations. The Word becomes fruitful when it moves from our eyes to our hearts and then to our hands in action. Go act on the Word today. Hallelujah!!!

PRAYERS

Father, I obtain grace to move beyond hearing Your Word to being a faithful doer of it. Help me to meditate on Your truth until it shapes my thoughts, character, and actions. I declare my obedience produces prosperity and good success in every area of my life in Jesus's name
