EFFECTUAL FERVENT PRAYER

"Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." James 5:16

Glory to God! Prayer is one of the greatest privileges and spiritual weapons God has given to every believer. It is our means of fellowship with God, our channel of communion with the Father, and the means through which His will is established on the earth. From our opening scripture, Apostle James reveals that there is a kind of prayer that produces undeniable results, and it is the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man. The word 'effectual' means active, productive, and powerful. An effectual fervent prayer is a prayer that is effective in accomplishing its purpose and fulfilling God's agenda on the earth. When we talk about fervency, it speaks of intensity, passion, and persistence. It is not just about the volume in which we pray but the power generated when we pray.

An effectual fervent prayer is a prayer that flows from a heart whose only hope is the Lord and is fully dependent on the power of our God. This kind of prayer is not fuelled by fear, but it is driven by faith. It is enabled through the ministry of the Holy Spirit and sustained by our relationship with the Lord. An effectual fervent prayer doesn't give up until there's a manifestation of God's answer. Apostle James also points out that the prayer of a righteous man avails much. Our righteousness is not based on our personal perfection but on the finished work of Jesus Christ. Through faith in Christ, we have been made righteous before God, and by that we have been given the boldness to approach His throne with confidence (Hebrews 4:16). Every believer has the privilege of praying with confidence because we stand accepted in Christ. Because we stand righteous through Christ.

The Bible gives us the example of Elijah, who prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and for three and a half years there was no rain. When he prayed again, the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit (James 5:17–18). Elijah was a man with human weaknesses just like us, yet his prayers carried great power because he prayed from faith, not because of fear. Fear doesn't please God; it is faith that does. Many victories are won, and many destinies are preserved, because men gave themselves to effectual, fervent prayers. Prayer is beautiful, but effectual, fervent prayer is powerful. Doors are opened, and impossible situations are turned around through fervent prayer. Prayer changes circumstances, but effectual, fervent prayer changes nature and moves the heavens on the request of men. Therefore, as believers, we must pray from the place of faith, never underestimate the power of our prayers, and be consistent in accordance with God's word. Let our hearts pray with fervency continually; every mountain shall be shifted and every wound healed by the power of God. Your prayer changes things; your continual prayer changes generations. Pray an effectual, fervent prayer. Hallelujah!!!

Father, I declare that my heart is filled with faith, and I am taught by the Holy Spirit to pray passionately and continually. My prayers are effectual and fervent, producing results that glorify Your name and establish Your will on the earth in Jesus's name
