GOD THE RESTORER

"And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you." Joel 2:25

Glory to God! One beautiful revelation about our God is that He is the God of restoration. Whatever has been lost, damaged or stolen is not necessarily the end of the story. God has the power to restore what the enemy has taken and to bring beauty out of seasons that appeared completely wasted. The prophet Joel spoke to a people who had experienced devastating loss. Their land had been consumed by swarms of locusts, leaving destruction in their every waking hour. Yet God promised them, “I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten.” Notice that God did not merely promise to restore what was lost; He promised to restore the years. There are seasons in life when it seems like time has been wasted. Opportunities may have been missed, relationships may have been broken, resources may have been lost, and dreams may have been delayed. Sometimes we look back and wonder, “How can I ever recover what I have lost?” But God is not limited by our past. He can redeem time, restore opportunities, rebuild broken places, and cause us to experience fruitfulness again.

Restoration does not always mean returning to exactly what existed before. Sometimes God restores by giving us something greater than what we lost. Job's latter days were greater than his beginning (Job 42:12). God can take the ashes of yesterday and turn them into the testimony of tomorrow. However, restoration is a function of repentance to God. There are factors that caused what was lost in the very first place; where there is no genuine repentance and return to God, there can be no restoration. Restoration begins when we turn our hearts back to the Restorer. As believers, we must not allow our past losses to define our future. Wasted years and opportunities are not beyond what God can turn around. Our failed attempts and broken places are not beyond God's redemption and healing. Perhaps you have lost something valuable. Perhaps you feel that you have fallen too far behind. Perhaps you have watched years pass without seeing the results you desired. Do not give up. God is still writing your story. He can restore your joy, restore your strength, restore your purpose, restore your opportunities, restore your relationships, and restore your fruitfulness. The God of restoration is our God. What looks like an ending may become the beginning of a greater testimony. Believe again. Pray again. Rise again. Build again. God is able to restore. Hallelujah!!!

  1. What area of my life have I considered permanently lost, and am I willing to surrender it completely to God, trusting Him for restoration?
  2. Is there any area where I need to genuinely repent, return to God, and allow Him to rebuild what has been broken?

PRAYERS
Father, You are the God of restoration. Restore everything that has been lost or wasted in my life according to Your will. Give me the grace to repent where necessary, return wholeheartedly to You, and trust You with my future. Turn my losses into testimonies. Let my life bring glory to Your name in Jesus's name
