SPIRITUAL MIND

"For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace." 

Romans 8:6

Glory to God! The quality of our life is greatly influenced by the condition of our mind. As believers, God has not only called us to have a changed heart but also a renewed mind. The Christian life is lived from the inside out, and our thoughts determine the direction of our actions. A mind that is yielded to the Holy Spirit produces a life that reflects the nature and character of Christ. To be carnally minded is to allow our thoughts, decisions, and desires to be governed by the flesh and the systems of this world. Such a mindset leads to spiritual dullness, confusion, fear, and separation from God's perfect will. A carnal mind is self-centred, driven by emotions, and often resists the leading of the Holy Spirit. 

However, to be spiritually minded is to consistently align our thoughts with God's Word and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is choosing God's perspective over human reasoning, it is having faith over fear, and it is the ability not to be controlled by our feelings. A spiritual mind is a mind filled with God's Word and is committed to pleasing Him in every area of life. The beautiful result of a spiritual mind is life and peace. When we are spiritually mindful, we have life abundant full of vitality, strength, and joy unspeakable. The second thing is the peace money cannot buy. An inward calm that remains regardless of what is happening outwardly. This peace is a result of the presence of God ruling in our heart. A spiritual mind is a renewed mind, a mind that is established on a daily walk with the Scripture, a praying life, and a maintained fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Life and peace are in a spiritual mind. Make up your mind not to stop at just receiving Jesus into your heart; make a decision to reject every carnal thought and embrace the mind of Christ. Let the Holy Spirit govern your thinking every day. There is a place for you, but it is a spiritual mind that will take you there. Confusion is a product of carnality, while clarity is in the spirit. Don't be carnal! Hallelujah!!!

  1. What thoughts or attitudes in my daily life reveal carnality, and how can I replace them with the truth of God's Word?
  2. Am I intentionally renewing my mind through Scripture, prayer, and fellowship with the Holy Spirit, or am I allowing the world's influence to shape my thinking?
PRAYERS
Father, I declare that I have the mind of Christ. I reject every carnal thought, and I continually renew my mind through Your Word. My thoughts are governed by the Holy Spirit, so I walk in abundance of life and peace every day in Jesus's name

    When our mind is yielded to the Holy Spirit it produces a life that reflects the nature and character of Christ.

    The quality of life is influenced by the condition of our mind but what happens when our mind is literally everywhere and you can’t even hear the Holy Spirit?

DAILY ENCOUNTER AUGUST 3RD, 2026 PROVING THAT WHICH IS GOOD "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." Romans 12:2 Glory to God!  When we gave our heart to Jesus, we were brought into a new life in God, and that life is life in the Spirit. It is a life powered by God by His Spirit to know what is good, acceptable, and perfect will of God. One of the issues we have seen among believers is the issue of not knowing what God is doing.
